High velocity flexible cords, which detonate at about 6 500 m per second, and is made of continuous column of water resistant pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), containing one or two centre yarns and enclosed in a carrier tape bound by two layers of yarns. This ‘semi-cord’ is waterproofed with a continuous covering of blue or green plastic. The detonating cord product range is supplied under the trade name of Pentacord™ (P-12) which has an explosive core load of 12g/m.
